I had been partial to Opus 88 and the Cross Wanderlust fountain pens, but my interests have ranged into even the extremely expensive Visconti Homo Sapiens pens over the decades. When I read the history of the Silverburl designer, I was more than a little intrigued. I had to try one of these beautiful pens. They are EVERY BIT as beautiful as they look in the pictures! My Silverburl pens were designed specifically FOR ME by John Sanderson, the owner, after several discussions about my SLE and difficulties writing, so they write better, fit my hand better, and are better balanced than anything I have ever encountered before or since, and I don't just mean better than any other fountain pen. These pens are better writing instruments, PERIOD. What's even more amazing to me, and better for me, personally, is that these pens aren't slaves to the position of the pen, as most fountain pens are. Admit it. We all know HOW we're supposed to write with our fountain pens, but we often just grab it and try to write like it's a ballpoint pen. For me, it's more about the damage to my hands from my disease. Some days I just can't grip my pen certain ways. The engineering of the Silverburl pen is BETTER. It can write no matter HOW you need to grip it, and will give you the performance of the $7000 pen, without the price tag, no matter what ink you use in it. I now own FOUR, because they really are that special! Try one. You'll see! They are WELL WORTH the handmade price!
Two pens ordered and two delivered and they have both exceeded all expectations. They were given as gifts, one to a published poet, the other to a close relative. Both recipients were extremely pleased. One can't ask for more!
